Spays and Neuters

Our Veterinarian recommends spaying or neutering your dog or cat at 20 weeks of age. The animal must be current or be made current on or before the day of surgery for all core vaccines. This include Rabies and Distemper/Parvo for dogs; and Rabies and RCP for cats. If vaccinated at another veterinary clinic, we will need copies of those records.*

Spay and Neuter procedures include pre-surgical bloodwork, pre-medication, full anesthesia and monitoring during the procedure, an antibiotic injection, and post surgical pain medication.

Occasionally there may be something that causes your pet to be under anesthesia for longer than anticipated, such as if your female pet is pregnant or in heat, or if your male pet has one or both testicles undescended. In these instances, there will be added cost due to the additional time in surgery.

Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment and Treatment (Dental)

Our Veterinarian recommends that all dogs and cats get a dental once a year starting at one year of age. Prioritizing dental procedures for your dog is crucial for several reasons. Dental issues, if left untreated, can cause pain and discomfort, leading to difficulties in eating and reduced quality of life. Furthermore, untreated dental problems like periodontal disease can result in inflamed gums, tooth decay, and tooth loss. Beyond the immediate oral health concerns, untreated dental issues can lead to systemic problems, as oral bacteria can enter the bloodstream, affecting vital organs like the heart, liver, and kidneys.

Regular dental procedures, including cleanings and necessary extractions, help maintain oral hygiene, reduce infection risks, and contribute to your dog's overall well-being. By investing in your dog's dental health, you not only improve their quality of life but also prevent potential, more severe health complications down the road.
